As it turns out, gamers were right. They’ve been right all along. A digital, virtual reality is coming, a metaverse where we can do things, buy things, see things. Whatever else we may think of it, it’s relevant, and it’s also a huge market, with potential.
Automakers know this and they’ve been paying attention. Alpine recently launched its first collection of NFTs – and no doubt other brands will follow soon – and now Porsche, in partnership with Polyphony Digital, has developed a new car specifically designed for Gran Turismo 7, which will be released on March 4, 2022 for PlayStation 4 and 5.
The Porsche Vision Granturismo comes in with an “especially sporty height-to-width ratio”, a low-set bonnet and a massive wing. It kinda looks like the Taycan, because the inspiration comes from the Taycan.
Obviously, a lot of people will want Porsche to build this in the real world as well – and I am one of those people – in the meantime, all we gotta do is wait for the game and play.
