Is GM working on a US Army-spec electric Hummer?

So it seems GM Defense, General Motor’s military division, is in talks with the DOS (US Department of Defense) and the US Army to develop an electric version of the GMC HUMMER EV, which would essentially serve as an electric Light Reconnaissance Vehicle.

Would it work?
