Every once in a while, Lexus tries to spice things up with new models that are at least trying to be exciting, such as these race-ready IS models that Lexus recently revealed at SEMA.
The standard IS is a good car but it’s not exactly what you’d call exciting, that’s why the Japanese automaker teamed up with DSPORT Magazine and Lexus ambassador Scott Pruett to create improve the styling of the IS 350 F Sport, with some cool graphics, new suspension, a new body kit from Artisan Spirits and new Sparco QRT-K race seats (they’re made from a combination of carbon and kevlar), along with new Advan Racing Beyond GR 19-inch wheels in a colour that the company refers to as ‘Hyper Black’.
Lexus says it wants to up the ante for SEMA 2022 and give these two interesting cars a power upgrade as well. At the moment, both are powered by a 311-hp, 3.5 L V6. That’s a weird promise, if you think about it, because who knows what’s gonna happen a year from now.
And by the way I was kidding in the headline. I actually love the IS.
