You know the drill with Elon Musk. He says he’ll build XY Cybetrucks by tomorrow, you’ll know he’ll deliver, but you know it won’t be tomorrow.

But Tesla fans, enthusiasts, buyers, evangelists, owners have faith – and a lot of it – which explains the astounding number of reservations it‘s received for the Cybertruck: around 1.3m, worth around $80bln.
Tesla first launched this reservation scheme with the Model 3: reserve your vehicle for as little as $1,000 (fully refundable), and it’s a win-win. You, the soon-to-be owner know you’ll get your car – eventually – and you can get your money back if you change your mind, meanwhile Tesla can, well, brag about receiving 1.3m orders.
1,270,000 to be exact, and 250,000 people actually reserved their truck during the first week after it was revealed. IF – and that’s a big if – and WHEN these sales are finalised, Tesla will bring home $80bln in revenue.
Quite frankly, that’s going to happen, if at all, over years, but it still gives you an idea of Tesla’s potential.
