Elon Musk was recently named “[Time] Person of The Year” and after the ‘ceremony’, he said Tesla will begin accepting Dogecoin (DOGE) payments for some merchandise, *not* for the cars. At least for now.
Musk said that, as a means of payment, dogecoin is actually better than bitcoin (mostly because of transaction fees and speed).
Dogecoin is a so-called ‘memecoin’, it was created as a joke but it eventually gained intrinsic value, as it were, and some businesses including AMC and, well, now Tesla, are considering accepting it as a direct means of payment.
