The new Lucid Air Sapphire is faster than the Model S Plaid, and twice as expensive

This is the Lucid Air Sapphire, a tri-motor version of Lucid’s first and only model – the Air – designed to compete, and possibly beat, the Tesla Model S Plaid.

It has nearly 2,000 hp and it does 0-60 in under 2 seconds. In addition to that, Lucid also gave it a bespoke, track-friendly suspension system and new, larger brakes.

It is also fastest around Laguna Seca than the Model S Plaid.

This achievement is obviously meaningless in real world terms but it has a huge strategic value because Lucid wants to beat Tesla.

Let’s wait and see. Tesla has been around for a while and their market share in the EV market is still ‘unfcukwithable’, as Gen Zs would say.

For now, all we know is this costs $250,000.

Twice as much as the Plaid.
