Thinking of flipping your Cybertruck? Think again

Soon-to-be Cybertruck owners might be tempted to flip their Cybertruck for a profit. Don’t do that. Probably not a smart idea.

Supercar makers routinely do what they can to prevent buyers from doing this, usually with a no-resale clause, but this is a world’s first for a brand like a Tesla. Ie, a brand that theoretically caters to anybody, not just the ultra-rich.

The Cybertruck Delivery Event is just around the corner, November 30, which means that about three weeks from now, the first Cybertruck owners will be able to get the keys to their truck.

Should they decide to flip and turn a profit, because of course the orders backlog is massive and so people are probably ready to spend a bit more to get it sooner, Tesla will take drastic measures.

The American automaker will take ‘flippers’ to court. The amount they’ll sue would-be owners for is $50,000 which, in Tesla’s mind, is enough to make flipping the vehicle counterproductive.

Stay tuned, because this is gonna be fun.
