Genesis throws the best afterparties at the LA Auto Show along with Hyundai. What does this have to do with the actual car? Nothing. I just wanted to say it.

Anyway, this is the new GV70 – ‘electrified’ because ‘duh’, and it was recently unveiled at the Guangzhou in China.
There’s a new Crest Grille with what Genesis calls the ‘inverted G-Matrix pattern’, new wheels, new bumpers and new headlamps.

The all-wheel-drive powertrain generates 360 kW (483 hp). 0-60 in done in 4.5 seconds.
The cabin features Genesis’ traditional two-spoke (more like a monospoke, actually) steering wheel, upholstered with ‘eco-friendly’ materials, even though Genesis doesn’t actually get into details to explain what they are, I mean it may be recycled plastic and synthetic leather.

They say it’s ‘electrified’ but that’s actually incorrect, if we go by the standard that we’ve set in recent years, defining hybrid cars as ‘electrified’ and electric cars as, well, electric.
Or am I missing something?
Anyway, good car, I think it looks great. Range and pricing TBA.
