Porsche wants to run its own electricity network, and that’s why they’ve been investing like crazy

Porsche went on a shopping spree, investing in a bunch of companies mostly in the tech sector. This is their latest addition, a start-up called 1Komma5.

Based out of Hamburg, Germany, 1Komma5 wants to operate in the energy sector by providing decentralised solutions for household necessities such as air-conditioning for your home.

What they do is simple, sort of, they work with renewable energy companies across Europe with decentralised support for things like smart electricity tariffs and virtual power plant concepts.

Porsche is trying to develop its own proprietary energy network to charge its cars, and obviously trying to get the most bang for their buck in the process.
