The striking GT3 racer developed by Toyota and Gazoo Racing is coming to Tokyo, visitors and attendees will have the opportunity to see it in person at Auto Salon (car show). We don’t know too much about it in terms of specs and performance, but we do know that the 268-hp Toyota Yaris GR will also be there. Which is excellent.
Europe has long lost its market dominance both in terms of sales and also in terms of relevance. A combination of bad policies, in my opinion, and stringent regulations, coupled with the organic shift in market trends, has made the Old Continent less relevant in the car world. These days, if you’re the CEO of an automaker, you know that China, the U.S. and the Middle East, and Japan if the automaker in question is Japanese, are your priority, not Europe. Some countries, like Italy and France, are badly lagging behind and it seems governments are doing absolutely everything they can to make owning a car a living nightmare. And it’s working, no one’s buying cars anymore.
That’s the reason why this year’s NAIAS (they’ve actually rebranded it and changed it, ed) and Auto Salon will go ahead as planned, that’s why CES (in Las Vegas) went ahead as planned, but for the third year in a row, the Geneva Motor Show ain’t happening. And some believe it may dead and gone. It’s a shame, and it’s also irritating. But there’s not a lot we can do about it.
