Let’s start with the good news because there’s a lot to unpack. The Acura Integra is back, and it isn’t an SUV, and it isn’t electric, and it’s got a manual gearbox, and the first 500 customers who buy the 2023 Integra will receive an NFT. Bliss.
The Integra nameplate was first introduced in 1986 for a variety of different vehicles, including Type S models, and it became hugely popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s, benefiting from the buzz created by the tuning culture of the era.
The latest model, the 5th Gen Integra, is loosely based on the Honda Civic and built in the U.S. (in Ohio) as a front-engine, front-wheel-drive sedan. The engine is a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder, delivering 200 hp and 192 lb-ft, mated to a standard CVT automatic or, you’re gonna love this, a 6-speed manual with a limited-slip diff.
The tech-friendly interior feature a 10.2-inch LCD cluster display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (and Amazon Alexa) compatibility and an eight-speaker sound system. It’s a tech fest but it ain’t tacky. You get leather upholstery and a relatively conservative design language, nothing too crazy. It’s modern without being excessive.
Pricing start at around $30,000 and the first 500 reservations will receive an Integra NFT to go with their car. Excellent.
