The Lamborghini Huracán is called ‘Huracán’, not ‘Huracan’. There’s an accent and I can’t ignore it because I’m fastidious like that. They should just drop it.
The problem is unfortunately they’re going to drop the actual model before they change the name because sooner or later the Huracán will follow the fate of the Aventador and die in peace, to be replaced by an electric sportscar of some sort.
But that’s gonna happen later because now there’s a new model, and it’s called the ‘Tecnica‘. Italian for ‘technique’.
As you can imagine, the Tecnica is XY percent better than the previous one and XY percent faster and XY percent lighter. It isn’t a new model, it is a slightly better version of the previous Huracán, which in turn was a slightly better version of the one before that. And so on. That’s actually a good thing.
The engine is the same 5.2-litre V10 that powers every other Huracán, delivering 631 hp (640 PS) and 416 ft lb of torque, which makes it more powerful than the STO as well as lighter, tipping the scales at just 1,379 kg.
Zero-to-sixty is over with and done in just 3.2 seconds and the car is 35% more aerodynamically efficient than the EVO RWD, which is something you can brag about as you drive around Monaco at 9 mph, which is what most Lambo owners do anyway.
Other things? Well, it looks slightly sharper – well, technically less sharp because it has smoother edges, and it also has new ‘Damiso’ 20-inch wheels and a completely redesigned infotainment system, with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa.
You can get it in any colour you like with the Ad Personam customisation programme (200+ options) but, as ever, there are only four acceptable colours for a Lambo: orange, orange, orange and green.
And the price? They didn’t say. However, the STO starts at €300k / £260k / $327k in Europe/UK/USA respectively, and this is going to be more expensive than that. You’re looking at a 20-30% premium. Or more.
