This is the Pagani Huayra Codalunga, and it is an ultra-rare and ultra-expensive hypercar with an eye-watering price tag of $7.4 million.
The Italian supercar manufacturer said production will be limited to only 5 units worlwide.
The company has been around for twenty years but during this time, it has only launched two new models, the Zonda and the Huayra.
However, Pagani famously unveils a new spin-off or a new special-edition vehicle based on the existing models every year – sometimes more than once a year.
This is what the Codalunga is: a limited-edition / swan song tribute to the Huayra before it gets replaced by an all-new model in 2023.
It is also the first-ever long-tail Huayra, and that is actually what the name comes from because Codalunga is Italian for ‘long tail’.
It features a streamlined body style with an elongated rear section, making it 14 inches longer than the original Huayra.
The cabin is a festival of aluminium and leather and speaking of high-quality materials, there’s also a new ceramic-coated exhaust system, designed to get the most out of the revised 12-cylinder engine.
While the AMG-sourced twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 in the standard Huayra ‘only’ delivers 730 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque, the V12 in this long-tail monster puts out 840 hp and 811 lb-ft of torque.
And this is a lightweight vehicle, let’s not forget that.
It tips the scales at just 2,822 pounds (1,280 kg), which makes it lighter than a Mercedes A-Class or even a VW Golf.
Despite the whopping $7.4 million price tag and the fact that there are only five in the world, this isn’t Pagani’s rarest vehicle. Or the most expensive.
Both accolades are reserved for the Zonda HP Barchetta, a $17.5 million spider limited to 3 units only, one of which is owned by none other than Horacio Pagani himself.
