Our Next Energy (ONE), a Michigan-based EV start-up, is currently testing a prototype based on the Tesla Model S, powered by what they call a ‘proof-of-concept’ battery, capable of travelling 752 miles (1,210 km) on a charge in real-world conditions. They’ve also tested the prototype on a dyno, and it ran for 882 miles (1,419 km) at 55 mph.

One founder and CEO Mujeeb Ijaz goes straight to the point when he says the company wants to “accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles by eliminating range anxiety, which holds back most consumers today.”
The biggest problem with batteries that are used in all electric cars today is that performance is heavily affected by weather and driving conditions and the concept they’re trying to build aims to solve, at least in part, that problem.
The 207.3 kWh ‘ONE Gemini’ battery was fitted to a Model S and it occupies the same space as the standard 103.9 kWh in the car. It also more energy-dense, while offering the same kWh consumption as the original battery.
