The all-new Maserati Grecale is finally here and it’s a lot better than I thought it’d be. Mostly because I thought it wouldn’t be good at all. First and foremost, it looks good, which is what you expect from a Maser‘.
It’s built in Italy and it’ll be Maserati’s first all-electric vehicle but don’t worry, because aside from the electric ‘Folgore‘ version – the name is a tribute to Italy’s Paratroopers Brigade – it’s also available with a 4-cylinder mild-hybrid 300-hp unit (GT), a 330-hp mild-hybrid variant called the Modena and then there’s the Trofeo, powered by the same 530-hp 3.0-litre V6 that powers the MC20 sportscar.
The Trofeo accelerates from standstill to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and the top speed is 177 mph.
The big news is this 4.8-metre SUV is finally in tune with the times, unlike its dad the Levante, because it has a nice interior with a 12.3-inch display + an 8.8-inch instrument cluster + a dashboard clock, which is digital and integrated with the same features you can also control from the infotainment.
Maserati made us wait, but it was worth it.
